Wake up
: We can often hear Margaret playing in her crib before we go in to get her and she rarely cries to be picked up in the morning. When we walk in she smiles a great big gummy smile and kicks her feet happily.Breakfast
: Margaret has learned to give herself her bottle and she is almost ready for a sippy cup. I just need one that is easy to drink from but doesn't leak. I think that if someone could invent such a cup they'd be a millionaire. By her feeding herself the formula it means I have time to make her breakfast before she gets too desperate. I think Weetbix is the Australian name for "Wheatabix". When you pour water or milk over them they go totally mushy. That's gross to me to but she likes it.Finger food
: Margaret is getting very good at eating toast and bread. She also likes to eat her puffed rice, and so even though I personally don't like the taste of it she eats it every few days.Morning Nap
: Believe it or not Margaret's morning nap can be anything from an hour and a half to three hours. Twice a week Sharlene and Oliver come over to watch Margaret in the afternoon and arrive along about when Margaret is waking from the nap.Lunch
: We often go out to have lunch on the sand at the beach or out with other mothers from Mother's Group. Two days a week we meet other mums and bubs, two days a week Margaret has lunch with Sharlene and Oliver. Of course on weekends this is time with John-Daddy.Snack
: Yogurt is one of Margaret's farvorite foods. It's actually rather hard to find full-fat yogurt that doesn't have refined sugar in it. Almost all of the kids' yogurts have sugar in them, even the organic or soy yogurts. Those just have organic sugar. She knows her yogurt packages when she sees them and I usually get a smile from her when she sees them.Afternoon Nap
: Because she has such a long morning nap this nap is usually 30-45 minutes and yet all of this daytime sleeping doesn't interfere with the nighttime sleeping.Dinner
: I offer her a lot of food but often she is so packed with food from her earlier meals that she doesn't eat it all. I'm afraid I have a tendency to try to stuff Margaret as much as possible because she is the smallest baby in mother's group.Bathtime
: Margaret loves to play in the bathtub, espcially because the easiest way for us to bathe her is by having a grownup in the tub with Margaret. Most nights she throws one of her toys on the floor but I don't retrieve the toy. We just say "bye bye" to the toy so I don't have to worry about retrieve the toy and leaving Margaret unattended in the water. Some nights she votes all of the toys off the island.Bedtime
: The purpose of the bath is to give Margaret good signals for when it is time for bed. Since we've been doing the elaborate bedtime ritual she has gone to sleep right away, and since June she has slept through the night from 7 pm to 7 am. Occasionally she wakes during the night but it's either because Mommy and Daddy have woken her up when saying goodnight at their bedtime or because she's had a nightmare. She goes back to sleep quickly after getting a cuddle.
