Starlight Surprise Cookies
(Chapple Family Classic, from Karen)
Cream:
1 cup butter (or butter/Crisco, or Crisco)
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
Blend in:
2 eggs unbeaten
2 T water
1 t vanilla.
Sift together and add:
3 cups flour
1 t baking soda
1/2 t (no ingredient mentioned in my copy, assume this is baking powder but could be some
illegal drug) Nancy says: SALT
Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours. Enclose chocolate mint wafers (2 packages)
in about 1 T of chilled dough. Optional: top with walnut halves (this is crossed out
in my version). Bake in 375 degree oven for 10-12 minutes.
